Keith Kellogg told Fox News Digital, “I told the president\u2026 maybe you ought to talk about a tiered relationship with NATO,” Kellogg described conversations with Trump in his first term about the alliance\u2019s future. “\u2026we need to develop a new, for lack of a better term, a new NATO a new defensive alignment with Europe<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

High Commissioner for Human Rights<\/a> Volker T\u00fcrk on Tuesday accused Iran\u2019s regime of dramatically intensifying its crackdown on dissent in the wake of the February conflict, warning that Tehran has carried out executions, mass arrests, torture and one of the world\u2019s longest internet shutdowns while invoking national security.<\/p>\n

In a sharply worded statement from Geneva, T\u00fcrk said at least 21 people have been executed and more than 4,000 arrested on national security-related charges since Feb. 28 as the regime faces mounting scrutiny over what he described as a sweeping assault on fundamental rights.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s selection as one of dozens of vice presidents at the monthlong review conference for the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty reignited scrutiny over what critics say is a recurring pattern of Iran gaining procedural legitimacy inside international institutions despite longstanding concerns over its nuclear conduct.<\/p>\n

The clash erupted as the 11th Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty opened at U.N. headquarters in New York, where Iran was selected as one of 34 vice presidents through the Non-Aligned Movement bloc.<\/p>\n
