The top Republican on New Jersey\u2019s Judiciary Committee says she repeatedly warned state officials that automatic voter registration lacked adequate safeguards but was routinely dismissed, as thousands more noncitizens have now been found on sensitive systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Kristin Corrado, R-Totowa, told Fox News Digital that Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s<\/a> motor voter controversy reinforced Republican demands for a bipartisan investigation with subpoena power, warning the administration’s review was too narrowly focused and likely failed to capture the full scope of the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We didn’t just reach out to the Motor Vehicle Commissioner. We reached out to secretary of state [at the time, Lt. Gov. Taheshia Way]. The co-chair of Democratic Socialists of America<\/a> told Fox News that the party\u2019s agenda includes abolishing borders, giving amnesty to illegal immigrants, and abolishing prisons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DSA co-chair Megan Romer said that the party platform aims to defund the Pentagon, abolish the Senate, replace the presidency, Supreme Court, and abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newest update from Cook Political Report is here, and it shows a clear pathway to victory for Republicans to maintain control of the House of Representatives<\/a> as we head into the November midterm election season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The July 16 report shows that Republicans are likely to come away with 212 seats, and have classified a further 18 as \u201ctossups.\u201d 14 of those tossup seats are either currently held by a Republican incumbent or are now open seats that were previously held by a Republican.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Democrats and Republicans are campaigning hard to control these seats, with some of the most heavily-watched House bouts appearing on the list. Notable races include Colorado\u2019s 8th District held by Republican Gabe Evans, Wisconsin\u2019s 3rd District held by Republican Derrick Van Orden, and Texas\u201934th District held by Democrat Vincente Gonzales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bipartisan push to make Daylight Saving Time permanent is heading for a chamber-wide vote after clearing a key House hurdle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The House Rules Committee on Monday teed up a floor vote on the Sunshine Protection Act, which would allow states to enact Daylight Saving Time year-round \u2014 with an option to opt out. The committee approved the rule in a 6-4 vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The measure has the support of many coastal lawmakers and President Donald Trump<\/a>, who has repeatedly urged Congress to make Daylight Saving Time permanent and end the twice-a-year ritual of changing clocks \u2014 a practice currently observed by every state except Hawaii and most of Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proponents argue that resetting clocks has negative health impacts, while permanent Daylight Saving Time would boost outdoor recreation, tourism and economic activity, among other benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
